Hey, I'm Cerie!

As a young girl who fell in love with basketball while growing up in America, I never could have imagined where the game would take me. Fast forward a few years to when my life changed forever by signing my first professional basketball contract in Europe. I packed my bags and moved to Europe alone, without knowing a soul, without ever having set foot on the continent. Full of youth and naïvety, I unknowingly left behind life as I knew it - I just didn't realise it at the time. One year of professional basketball in Luxembourg turned into several, which eventually led to multiple stints living abroad in Europe and the UK, with basketball always the common thread. 

When I first moved to Europe, my mom knew the experience would change my life. She encouraged me to write in my journal every day so I could process and remember it all. I took her advice, and haven't stopped writing since. This blog was born out of the scribbles, notes, sketches and journal entries I have made over the last 10+ years, that documented my life and in Europe. Travel stories, recommendations, tips, mishaps, love, loss, basketball, and everything in between throughout a life abroad.
